Instead of wasting hours trying to figure out what the best way to build your business and to find more time to plant a garden...chase your kids around the house... or catch up on your Soaps. I will supply you with some great tools to help you do just that! What can you do? You can meet potential buyers and clients in the most unlikely of places. Are you prepared to provide them with information? Business cards ensure future communication will be made. They give you the ability to promote your business almost effortlessly. So have a bunch of business cards printed up and NEVER leave home without them! When do you promote them? Every time you see someone! In line at a grocery store or at a doctors office. Anytime you think of it leave one or give one to someone. A PROSPECT MUST BE CONTACTED SEVEN TIMES before you have any real chance at closing a sale. Where do you promote them? Make a list of all the places you go to. Some examples would be: 1) Laundry Mats 2) Thumb tacked to bulletin boards 3) Leave them with your bank teller. 4) Leave them on restaurant tables. 5) Include them with your bill payments. 6) Leave them on the windshields of people's car. 7) Exchange fillers with other businesses. 8) Leave them in grocery stores. 9) Leave them in library books. 10) Put them in your bank deposits These are just a few ways of many places WHERE you can leave them. How do you promote them? Remember you can use both sides of the business card. One of the HOW's to promote your business cards is to decide what information is most pertinent to extend to the recipient of you and your business. Consider: - Company name - Logo - Philosophy - Slogan - Your name - Title - Phone number - Web address - Mailing address - Email address Remember, your business card is like an first impression. You want to make a great impression, so it will cost a little bit more to make that initial impact. Who do you promote to? Potential customers aren't going to find your web site unless you tell them about it and give them a reason to want to visit the page. In other words, you have to market the Web site. Get your business card into as many hands as possible. Call your friends and relatives and tell them you have started a business. Visit them and leave a small stack of business cards to hand out to their friends. Talk to all the vendors from whom you buy products or services. Give them your business card, and ask if they can use your products or service, or know anyone who can. Attend meetings of professional groups. Have business cards in a pocket where they are easily reachable. Every time you start to say "My name is," reach in your pocket for a business card. By the time you get to "I run a..." (Type of business), your business card should be deposited in the hand of the person with whom you are speaking. Contact nonprofit organizations, schools and colleges, and even other businesses that have customers who may need your services. Ask for work or leads. Offer to be a speaker on subjects utilizing your area of expertise. Volunteer organizations, libraries and online forums often need speakers for meetings. If you have samples of your product, send or give samples WITH your business cards to potential customers like in trade groups, sample packs places, or even a pen pal.
